Flood waters made it harder to search for alligators,,,,,this small 4 1/2 foot gator , was
almost motionless as I let my boat drift towards him I thought I would probally scare him away as I was approaching
him. Using a modified 2 man portable boat, with a Minkota Endura trolling motor, turned out to be a great boat to photograph
gators with.

Bigger Alligators
The bigger the gator , the harder
it is to get photographs of them, really good photos anyway. The older ones grew to be old by being mor elusive
and leary of men. Below are some shots of a 12- 14 ft alligator probably weighing 500 plus pounds ...I have to admit it is a rush running into a big gator in the water! The pictures only show his head, but
look at the head in comparison to the river and you will get and idea of how big he is.... Ive one more trip to make to the
river and hopefully get some good videos of him to share with everyone.

Alligators 2007
Flood waters for months, in the ArKLaTex area.......... kept
alligators moving in all directions.......................displacing most of them from thier normal habitat.

Swamps and rivers that had risen high, above thier banks, and creeks proved to
be a great haven for alligators

Safety Tip
Never get closer than 15 feet (5 meters) to an alligator. If it hisses
or opens its mouth in defense, you should back away even farther. All animals are wild and should be treated with respect
at all times ~Everglades National Park ~

A Better Day
Saturday September 29, 2007 proved to be a great day
for watching alligators, in the course of 1 hour I managed to see 5 alligators ranging in sizes, 10 - 16 ft in length.
The series of pictures below show one alligator ,that I mistook at first for a car tire. (check out the shape of the tail)
The alligator below that is around 16 ft ...... thats a tree sticking out of the water that hes a laying beside... a large
tree at that....These huge creatures of nature, make the hours of time spent just watching and searching for them , worth
it.
